How to visit
Pull over, get comfortable, and leave room for the neighbors.
This is a quiet street where people still need to get home. Watch from the car, keep a lane open, and enjoy the show like you would at a neighbor's house.
- Come after dusk. The lights really wake up once the sky is dark. Weeknights are usually a little quieter than Friday after Bel Air High lets out.
- Pull to the side and park. If cars are stacked up behind you, wave them through first, then settle in. Please do not sit in the travel lane.
- Park toward the house. Stay on the display side of Old Emmorton Road, and leave every driveway clear.
- Headlights off, running lights on. High beams wash out the colors. Leave your parking lights on so other drivers can see you, and please stay in the car.
- Tune 96.5 FM. Turn it up and keep the windows up if you like. If the curb sign is hard to read, the same station is on our Facebook page.
Close to home if you live in Harford: just minutes from Bel Air, the Route 24 corridor, Constant Friendship, and the Emmorton and Abingdon neighborhoods.
A kind fall warning about walnuts. Please do not park on the far side of the street. Black walnuts drop from those trees and can dent a hood or crack a windshield. Park toward the house, out of the travel lane, and clear of every driveway.
